Taking advantage of the remaining days of summer by going on another lunch date, this time with Great Grandpa and Grandma Hieftje (aka Cuckoo Clock Grandpa and Grandma).

Both of our girls (but especially Lauren) have been fascinated with digging holes at the beach this year, always in search of water. Today when the hole got too deep with no water to be found Uncle Scott helped her dig even further down.

Lauren's back to school haircut. I think she looks so old- too old! The haircut, combined with Young Fives orientation in the evening, and Allie's first night in a big girl bed has this Mom feeling nostalgic - where has the time gone???

It was a beautiful (but windy) day at the beach. Lauren climbed the dune twice - once with Dad and once with Papa. And yes, she wore her life jacket the entire time. You know...just in case :)
